| Condition: The
aluminum panels, aluminum doors and aluminum storefront window
frames on
this
low-rise building were corroded, chemically burned, aged, discolored
and uneven. The heat and humidity in Texas adversely affects the
corrosion resistance of aluminum. The aluminum
cladding on this building is recessed not allowing rain water to
periodically wash off the aluminum panels and aluminum window frames.
Over time acidic contaminants and caustic pollutants that are not
washed away with the rain attack the aluminum finish. This condition
and a lack of preventive maintenance washing contributed to the
aluminum oxidizing
prematurely. The aluminum building was for sale the owners required
that the aluminum look new
and clean again. The Solution: We were contracted to clean, wash and restore the dull, stained, bleached, weathered, acid etched and oxidized aluminum building facade panels and aluminum window frames. This involved washing off and mechanically removing the corrosive layer of contaminants that had bonded to the aluminum finish. As aluminum refinishing experts, with were able to get the pollutants, stains and blemishes off of the aluminum with our aluminum restoration system. The aluminum is now clean, brightened, revitalized and restored. |
