| Condition: The
architectural metal lettering on the Bryn Mawr Trust Company sign was
oxidized and pitting. Corrosion, staining and tarnish had overtaken the
metal finish. The worn out, old, faded, sun damaged and u.v. weathered
clear lacquer finish was cracking, chipping and peeling exposing the
metal letters to the acidic and caustic exterior environment. The metal
signs gloss and sheen had worn off and the metal had a green brown
patina. The metal lettering needed to be renewed, polished, resurfaced
and refinished to make the metal sign shine and have the original
factory metal finish and luster. The Solution: We repaired and restored the architectural metal letters over a weekend when the bank was closed. To complete the metal refinishing and metal restoration project we had to get off the old lacquer finish and remove the tarnish, patina, scratches and stains. The metal surface corrosion, pitting and discoloration required metal polishing to achieve the desired metal surface finish and color depth. As metal cleaning, metal refinishing and metal maintenance experts the entrance lettering is now clean, rejuvenated, restored and protected. |
